do you have a facility report charities in northern ireland? Plenty of charities to choose from in that part of the world that are up to God knows what?
One charity in particular (Autism NI) charity number: XR22944 is extraordinarily involved in lobbying for an Autism Bill, an attempt to change the legislation surrounding autism as a disability.
this charity is and for the past 20 years has been well funded (very well!) by the government (health trusts, etc) and has basically run the show in Northern Ireland regarding autism, for 20 years. The same CEO has been in charge for those 20 years!!! They had half a million in their coffers according to their last annual report – money that has gone ???? .
this charity needs a FULL and complete investigation. Their website is all about fundraising, all they do is ask for money and more money, but they dont actually do much.
please investigate them
thank you
(parent of autistic children living in Northern Ireland)
I submitted this information for you now that the report form accepts NI charity numbers. Unfortunately Autism NI’s published Annual Report does not contain its accounts, only a deliberately unreadable photo of its balance sheet.
Hi, the Charities Commission in Northern Ireland will soon be fully up and running, requiring all charities to register with them.
Yes, interesting that this charity ‘smudged’ only the figures in their annual report – everything is crystal clear in the report, totally legible.
They have just completed their AGM and the new annual report will be out soon – will forward copy to you when it is published. This charity NEEDS an investigation, having spent 100′s of thousands of pounds emanating from membership fees etc on lobbying for a useless autism bill. It tries to speak for Northern Ireland, when in fact it only speaks for itself.
MOre and more people are wising up to what is going on, but its all politics.
Charities are one big screw. If you try to report them the government has such a large form it puts you off reporting them. Insted of aan easy form. Everyone knows Oxfams politically biased.
Are you seriously naming and shaming charities that are facing/going through major cuts to their budget through government spending cuts. These charities are trying their hardest to secure private donations to ensure that the work they carry out can continue.
I cannot work out what you aim to achieve with this site, its existance alone will put off investors who you appear to be saying should be the major contributors to these charities.
It’s to expose lobbying orgs that get most of their money from the govmt and use it to lobby the govmt for more I bet you that the CEOs of these orgs have mega salaries and an E class in the car park! They’re all socialist scumbbags living high on the hog. Champagne concerned?
How do I go about getting the published accounts of a charity please, anyone?
I would like to dob in an odious little operation in my part of the world which i suspect is heavily subsidised by local government and engaged in grant farming but I have no idea how to substantiate this.
This is one of the most vile sites I’ve ever come across. Why would anyone set up a site deliberately targetted at those in society that are dedicating their lives to trying to improve our society. I may not agree with everything a charity does, but they are already heavily regulated by their watchdog, and it’s not for me to decide what is a “morally worthy” cause and what’s not.
I’m personally pleased that the Government uses the expertise in specialist areas of the third sector to sulfil the delivering of services. The alternative is private companies motivated purely by profiit without the service user at the heart fulful the contracts and then everyone suffers.
And as Jim says in his comment above, if the purpose is to try and get a charity away from saate funding and have more private donations, this website’s aim to destroy the reputations of a charity will directly work against that.
Please take aminute to think this through before “reporting a charity” for trying to help the groups they’re set up for. It’s not political correctness gone mad it’s people who want to show compassion and help themselves and others who are disadvantaged.
And criticising NSPCC? really? how do you think change against child abuse comes about without a voice lobbying for it?
Lobbying has long been undertaken by charities. Those that do so, lobby the Government as part of their charitable aims and in order to try and improve the lives of their beneficiaries.
Where local authorities and the Government provide grants to charities, the use of that money is restricted to the services the charity has contracted to carry out. The charities cannot use grant money to fund lobbying activities.
At a time of significant cuts in Government spending, charities increasingly have to take on the provision of services to the needy in Society and this will mean an increase in grant making.
Will your number of listed fake charities therefore increase as the sector takes on increasing responsibility for looking after those that need help?
To label a charity as fake, simply because it is involved with lobbying, is completely unreasonable and potentially damaging to the charity’s hard-won reputation.
I do not doubt that there are a very small minority of charities not acting according to their charitable objectives. Perhaps you would like to focus your attention on those, rather than on charities, such as the NSPCC, who perform a vital role in the lives of those with genuine need?

There is no register of N. Ireland charities yet. The form here will now accept an HMRC number for a N. Ireland charity.

Look at the charity commission website and you can access the accounts and see how late they have submitted them etc.

They have not dedicated their lives to trying to improve society, they have dedicated their lives to improving their personal bank balances.
Charities are a HUGE SCAM!
This site just confirms what I already knew & makes me more determined to get them shut down & prosecuted for Fraud.
I agree totally with Andy.
